Blood Moon Pre-Order and ARC

Spring is in the air and so are the lust demons and luck imps. You know—cupids and leprechauns. The campus is an infested twitterpated muddle. However, dodging the imps’ snares may be the least of my worries when ghosts set their sights on me.

I did it! Before the end of the year too! Book three, Blood Moon, is up for Pre-Order on Amazon and there's an ARC going on Booksprout. (If you are interested in an early copy for leaving a review. that would be super awesome). Pre-Order HERE! Booksprout ARC HERE!

BLOOD MOON

I reached the end of Blood Moon aka "Hangry" Moon. I'm in shock. This is a whopper, folks. Word count is ~112,000 before edits. OMG. Edits. And I just realized I need to finalize the cover art. And poke my alpha reader like... daily...

But this is the homestretch. Feels good. Now to make it pretty. :D

Ice Cold Moon Review

Another review from Archeolibrarian! This time for Ice Cold Moon and I'm super pleased she enjoyed it so much to give another 4 out of 5 stars and a great review HERE!

My favorite bit:

Okay, the first thing I will say is how much I LOVE that Victoria's coterie are taking it slow. Now, I know you're probably shaking your heads but this is a SERIES and the courting, the taking time to get know each other? I love it. And that also means that when steamy times do happen, I love them even more!

Eeeii! How is that not the most awesome thing to start an author's day/week/month off right?!

It's especially great, because August kicked my butt. Word count and creativity were down and that was due to outside forces. Mostly happy, but still distracting. I have a new niece! And my toddler is now a little kid. It's mind-boggling.

Needless to say, I've gone into September with a GOAL. I'm going to meet my daily word count (something I stopped doing, but it really does make a difference to SEE when I've hit a goal) and keep my weekly goal too. Pushing for bonus word counts too. I've hit the halfway point and it's just a matter of getting the words on paper... er, the screen.

With that in mind, I need to also finalize Book Three's cover. Alas, I cannot call it "Hangry Moon". Hungry is too close to Hunter's, so I'm leaning toward "Blood Moon" and all the bloody connotations. *evil laugh*

Later lovelies!

Hunter's Moon Review

Here's something a little different! At the release of Ice Cold Moon, I started sending out inquiries for ARC's for reviews for Hunter's Moon. But it's a BIG ocean out there and I'm a small fry, so there haven't been a lot of bites. Yet. I'm not giving up.

However today, I received an awesome professional 4 out of 5 stars review from Archaeolibrarian! Read it HERE! My favorite bit:
I especially want to know more about Doyle's past and why he has reacted the way he has.
For a debut novel and the start of a new series, I can say I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to read more. Definitely recommended

such sharp pixels

Ah! Thank you so much to Merissa from Archaeolibrarian!

Just the pick me up I needed as I hit Book Three. The struggles have been real, folks. Not only in real life (because COVID-19 is a creative soul suck and the news every day isn't much better) but Victoria and her coterie are facing some MAJOR trials and tribulations. While I love playing the "evil author", I also hesitate before being "mean" to my characters. It is an author flaw I hope will fade as I gain more experience.

Until then, lovelies!

Doyle Inspiration

In honor of the RELEASE of Book 2: Ice Cold Moon, the inspiration for my cold vampire Doyle needed to be shared. If you always hated the trope of the one guy in the harem holding out until the last book by being stand-offish, rude, and generally an alpha-hole... well, you're not alone. Doyle may be all of those things, but Victoria's about to find out just how quick ice can break.

Doyle (no last name, because he's super old and forgetful)
Age: what's age, really? He entered deep sleep and woke in the 1880's and had to relearn a lot about society.
Magical Status: Mage-born turned Vampire
Alignment: Mastery in Ice
Study/Occupation: Arcanist- he studies magic and a Tutor/Teacher within Wildeward Academy

To read more about Doyle and just how he got his name and more hints as to when he turned check out Ice Cold Moon releasing July 1st to KU!

Hyde Inspiration

Hyde is purely so much fun to write, because he uses so many Victorian phrases and slang. He's rough at the edges, used to being a wolf, and before he met Victoria, he and his brother were always in the thick of trouble.

Edward Hyde
Age: 37*
Magical Status: Werewolf born
Alignment: Fire
Study/Occupation: "Warbark" - the werewolf version of a war bard. His song can instill bravery or fear into the masses. Hyde, of course, has authority issues...

*Were-shifters mature slower. So the more time spent in their wolf forms leaves them younger in human form. Their lifespans are usually doubled of a mundane if they ever live long enough to reach old age.

Ice Cold Moon

OMG! Cover Reveal!

So, I (finally) finished up edits and apparently formatting went a lot faster this go around (because I kinda know what I'm doing now) which means.... *drumroll* Book TWO is now live for PRE-ORDER! Set to drop on July 1st.

ALSO - *deep breaths* I've put it on Booksprout for ARC reviews for the next two weeks. I hope I've done everything right there. Here's hoping. I'm a nervous ball of tension. Self-publishing is super stressful.

Without further ado, the blurb:

What’s a witch without a coven? Just a mage with no focus.

My name is Victoria Grey. My five familiars died to protect me from my curse and now I’ve been sent away from society to learn to control my magic. Magic that’s taking unexpected twists as it grows.

This is Wildeward: Academy for magicals and monsters. Home for lost souls. Asylum for those they want forgotten.

Blood and magic wove a spell upon my heart. Five men of Wildeward answered its call:
Jekyll and Hyde, the werewolf brothers; Frankie, the shy doctor who believes he is a monster; Achoris, a smoking hot but sleepy oracle; and Doyle, my reluctant vampire. But can I keep them?

Winter is here and exams have me on edge. With an uncanny new student wanting all my attention, the creepy Dr. Stein still making my skin crawl, and the b-witch Regina threatening to take what’s mine, I've got enough on my mind. Never mind my search for the perfect gifts and trying to see the warmth of the cold moon season.

The Yuletide is officially on my naughty list.

Victoria Inspiration

So many pretty pictures for Victoria, I had to narrow them down for aesthetic purposes. Edwardian era witches are not really a thing. Except for Mercedes Lackey's Elemental Masters series, which is probably one of the biggest inspirations for Wildeward. So, there's a lot of Victorian overlay mixed with some fantasy.

The Honourable Victoria Grey - daughter of Baron Wendell and set to inherit the barony
Age: 21
Birthdate: Oct 31
Magical Status: Mage-born
Alignment: Earth

Miss Victoria Grey - a lady

Spoiler set for Book One: Hunter's Moon below!

Release for Hunter's Moon

So with the release of Hunter's Moon, I've stepped into the big world of self-publishing. Currently channeling "Into the Unknown" by Brendon Urie from the Frozen 2 soundtrack. It seemed appropriate.
A lot seems to be just yelling/dipping my toes into the void of the internet, but who knows, there are people out there reading this. So thanks for stopping by!

Hunter's Moon is available through Amazon and enrolled in Kindle Unlimited. May it bring comfort and warm fuzzy feelings and perhaps you'll feel generous enough to leave a review!

I'm working hard on editing Book 2: Ice Cold Moon. Get ready. Winter is coming.
Cover reveal and pre-order to come. As soon as I've figured that out. I've got inspiration images lined up of all the main characters to share too! I finished up brainstorming and the rough outline of Book 3 (production/working title is "Hangry" Moon, eventually the right title will drop) and now focused on the rough draft.

All for now, darklings!
