Hello, October. I'm so ready for autumn, the changing leaves and cool weather. Hot tea and cozy sweaters. All the hygge life that the heat of summer LACKS. Yeah, summer. Not a fan. Give me wood smoke and rain and carbs.
Also! Who got pumpkin spice coffee as soon as she could get her hands on it? This girl. What can I say? I like what I like and it's delicious.
Truthfully, I started Wildeward and Victoria's story as a little Halloween gothic romance tribute. I had NO idea it would morph into this grand world full of magic and steam. Then again, I should know better, that when I start a "little story" it tends to grow. So yeah, this season always brings me back to where it all began, Hunter's Moon.

For a brief hour, Hot Fey Moon held the #3 spot in the "New Releases in Fairy Tales" category and I had NO IDEA. My lovely husband sent me this while I was wrangling the kiddo for snack time. (She of course did not understand why I was suddenly doing the Kermit-freak-out dance and NOT paying attention to her. Such is my life.)

The ending was just perfect. Victoria is showing her strength and it is simply perfect. I love how I am drawn into each book fully, loving the story and the character it focuses on. But, once it has completed, with the hints given by this amazing author, I am immediately looking forward to the next.

So, I'm going for no spoilers here, but Frankie has been on my mind a lot this week. Sensitive soul, with a mess of troubles. He'd rather not be the center of attention. Obviously, we've gotten Doyle (vampire and a bit of Dracula mixed in), Jekyll and Hyde (gotta be werewolves), but Frankie has been shy about what exactly his magical nature is (other than Frankenstein) from the first book. He's Dr. Stein's foster son, so he isn't mage-born.
Franklin "Frankie" Stein
Age: ~26
Magical Status: mixed results
Alignment: Electric aligned with inhuman strength
Study/Occupation: Anatomist - specializing in healing and alteration. "Fixer" in slang - he can fix anything broken, but at what cost? Doctor Stein's assistant and teaching assistant to the healing professor. He bears an incredible amount of scars along with his vitiligo condition.

Henry Jekyll
Age: 37 (but just like Hyde, were-shifters mature slower)
Magical Status: Werewolf born
Alignment: specialty in all four - earth, air, fire, water (but mastery in none)
Study/Occupation: Alchemist Magesmith - maker of magical items and weapons specialist. On guard patrol duty and excels at teaching Magical Combat.
In Wildeward, I wanted the werewolves to be different, run by the women, and more focused on the pack and what it means to be family. However, even family can be toxic.
